In 1923, Trans-Lux introduced the first large-scale moving information display. In the '40s, we began servicing display equipment, and in the mid-'60s, our national service network became operational. Today, our North American service network is the most extensive in the industry. We're proud of the trust our clients place in us, and of our excellent reputation for high quality work and sound business practices. We continue to earn that trust and reputation every day.
Trans-Lux developed its service organization by responding to and meeting the diverse and demanding needs of specific industry segments. Most of these industries, such as securities, banking, transportation and gaming, have a requirement to continuously and accurately display ever-changing information that is critical to their particular business. Given that many of our products are offered on a lease basis with maintenance included, it is imperative that a high level of service is provided, as well as maintaining a cost-effective, highly skilled service organization.
Our Customer Care Center (1-800-243-5662) answers and tracks service calls, and dispatches service technicians to your site. Incoming calls are logged into a computer to expedite service and maintain accurate records. After your call is logged, a service technician calls you back to evaluate the situation and schedule on-site repair. Once the repair is made, we follow up to ensure that the problem is solved for good. Calls are answered 24 hours a day/7 days a week for customers operating on a continual basis. For customers who contract for service outside of normal hours, service technicians are dispatched via a paging system.
Our Help Desk (1-800-462-2716) provides technical support over the phone for all product lines. Reach the Help Desk by calling us toll-free Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m EST. After hours support is provided via a paging system. All calls are logged and dispatched when received. In addition, all calls received after hours or on holidays and weekends are also forwarded to the Regional Manager to ensure proper supervision and any assistance that may be required.
Extended Warranty Coverage is available for your Trans-Lux electronic displays. We offer five plans to suit the varying needs of our customers.
Trans-Lux Corporation's U.S. National Service Organization, headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut, currently maintains approximately 80 service technicians at over 50 locations who have been fully trained on the maintenance, troubleshooting and system level repair of display equipment for indoor and outdoor applications.
