NORWALK, CT, January 7, 2004 – Trans-Lux Corporation (AMEX: TLX), a leading supplier of programmable electronic information displays and operator of cinemas, has announced the promotion of a senior manager in its outdoor display business.
John Long, Senior Vice President of the Company’s Outdoor Display Subsidiaries, was elected Senior Vice President of Trans-Lux Corporation. In this role, Long maintains overall responsibility for operations of both Trans-Lux Fair-Play, the company’s catalog scoreboard subsidiary and Trans-Lux West, the company’s commercial outdoor product division.
Long joined Fairtron, a predecessor of Trans-Lux Fair-Play, as Controller and CFO in 1996, and was hired by Trans-Lux in 1997. In 1999 he was named Vice President and General Manager of Trans-Lux Midwest Corp. He was elected Senior Vice President of Outdoor Display Subsidiaries in 2002.
Based at the Company’s production facility in Des Moines, Iowa, Long previously founded International Trade Services, Inc., an export/import management services firm, and held positions in finance and accounting in both private industry and public accounting. He is a graduate of Central Missouri State University with a Masters in Taxation from Drake University. He lives in West Des Moines with his family.
